As we’ve been doing our work in the last several months, we’ve been thinking about the vision we have for success. What does our future look like? How will greater Cleveland look and feel? What will success mean for individuals, for companies, and for our community?
We’ve come up with this initial vision for our future. What do you think? Here are some ways to think about it.
-
-
- We want this vision to give us a north star which is inspiring, exciting, and connected to whatever compels you in general about our greater Cleveland community.
- It is differentiated from a vision that might work for Columbus (another Ohio city), or Minneapolis (another Midwest city), or San Diego (another city in the U.S.)
- It is believable and authentic, if aspirational. We may never get here, but we could!
- It has the right idea(s) included.
-
You may have other criteria too. So consider those, and take a read!
Greater Cleveland’s abundant and industrious talent pool will be the most qualified and diverse in the Midwest, filling the full range of jobs we have today and tomorrow. This leadership in talent will be a magnet, growing and attracting businesses, increasing our region’s economy and population.
From entry level jobs which are the front door to our diverse industries (such as manufacturing, entertainment, water, and healthcare), to jobs requiring advanced degrees to support the most innovative growth sectors, the greater Cleveland area will have a talent base ready to work today and prepared to work tomorrow as industry needs evolve.
For individuals, Cleveland will be a Midwest leader with abundant career opportunities. Whether a person finishes high school or a PhD program, in Greater Cleveland, she can find career pathways to advance in a career, support her family financially, and lead in an inclusive, vibrant business and civic community.
