Part of DF’s mission reads: Deaconess Foundation is a collaborative partner in philanthropic efforts that strengthen the human services sector in Cuyahoga County.

Strengthening the Sector
The mission focus on strengthening the sector gives the Foundation another mechanism to advance DF’s values: Impact, Integrity, and Collaboration. Although much of the focus is on employment, DF maintains the flexibility required to lead or participate in efforts that offer:
- The potential to strengthen multiple human service organizations or the environment in which they function
- The opportunity for impact beyond what we know we can achieve individually given our limited resources
- The possibility of some type of systems impact
- A response to a need or urgent problem
